Longines at the Hampton Classic

Official PARTNER of the Hampton Classic Horse Show

Longines is proud to support the Hampton Classic Horse Show, one of the greatest show jumping competitions in the United States. This world class equestrian event attaches great importance to values cherished by the Swiss watch brand, namely tradition, performance and elegance. In addition to being the Official Partner, the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch of the event, the Swiss watch brand is sponsor of the $400,000 Longines Hampton Classic 5* Grand Prix and the Longines Rider Challenge.

Based in the Swiss town of Saint-Imier since 1832, the watchmaker Longines can look back over 180 years of tradition typified by the elegance of its products. Using the expertise it gradually acquired, Longines established a network of advantageous links with the world of sport which enabled it to offer its skilled services to various prestigious disciplines during the 20th century.

Longines’ passion for equestrian sport dates back to 1878, when it produced a chronograph engraved with a jockey and his mount. Seen on the racetracks as early as 1881 and extremely popular among jockeys and horse-lovers, this model enabled its user to time performances to the seconds. In 1912 the company had already partnered with an international show jumping competition. Today Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes show-jumping, flat racing and eventing competitions.

In January 2013, Longines signed a historic agreement with the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale) that saw the brand become the first Top Partner as well as Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the FEI. This partnership reinforces the traditional and long-lasting commitment of the Swiss watchmaker in equestrian sports and makes the brand a major player in this field. In addition, Longines provides its skilled timekeeping services and associates itself with top-level series and competitions such as the three leagues of the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping – the Western European League, the North American League, and the China League –, the Longines Masters, including the Longines Masters of Hong Kong, the Longines Masters of Los Angeles and the Longines Masters of Paris and the 15-stage Longines Global Champions Tour.

In flat racing, Longines is the Official Partner and Official Watch of the IFHA (International Federation of Horseracing Authorities) and support the “Longines World’s Best Racehorses Award” and the “Longines World’s Best Jockey Award”. In addition, the Swiss watch brand is associated with the most prestigious and iconic races in the world, such as the Prix de Diane Longines, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the Dubai World Cup, Royal Ascot and the Longines Hong Kong International Races. Furthermore, in the US, the Swiss watch brand is the Official Timekeeper of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships and the three races of the Triple Crown: the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes.

Longines is a member of The Swatch Group S.A., the world’s leading manufacturer of horological products. With an excellent reputation for creating refined timepieces, the brand, whose emblem is the winged hourglass, has outlets in over 140 countries.
