Day of education highlights horses, dogs and cats available for adoption. Bridgehampton, N.Y., Aug. 24, 2015 - Joined by almost a dozen animal-adoption and animal-rescue groups, the annual ASPCA Adoption and Animal-Welfare Day at the 40th annual Hampton Classic offered more animals for adoption than ever before. Valerie Angeli, ASPCA senior director of equine and special projects, and Jill Rappaport, TV host and animal-welfare advocate, welcomed three area horse rescues, which brought seven horses to the presentation in the Anne Aspinall Ring: Our Farm Equine Rescue of Connecticut brought two large ponies; The Kaeli Kramer Foundation of New York brought two Mustangs; and the Squirrelwood Equine Rescue
Riders in three divisions display their skills. Bridgehampton, NY, Aug. 24, 2015- For the 10th consecutive year, the Hampton Classic hosted the championship finals for the Long Island Horse Show Series for Riders with Disabilities on Monday, with riders in three divisions competing for year-end titles. The 40th annual Hampton Classic Horse Show runs Aug. 23-30, in Bridgehampton, N.Y. The Hampton Classic features world-class equestrian competition, with more than 100 classes of competition including jumper, hunter, equitation, short stirrup and leadline classes, as well as competitions for riders with disabilities. More than 1,500 horses gather for eight days of top competition Bridgehampton, N.Y., Aug. 23, 2015- Highlighting the Opening Day at the 40h Hampton Classic Horse Show, sponsored by The Atlantic Hotel, was the presentation of the Long Island Sportsmanship Award, given annually to a Long Island horseperson in honor of their years of dedication. Show President Dennis Suskind presented the Long Island Sportsmanship Award to Karen Bocksel of Aquebogue, N.Y., the managing director of the Center for Therapeutic Horseback Riding on the East End (CTREE). With Vaillero, she tops field of 33 in show's first hunter class. Bridgehampton, N.Y., Aug. 23, 2015 - Victoria Colvin guided Heritage Farm's Vaillero to the top score (182.5) to claim the $50,000 iHeartMedia Hunter Derby, presented by Ghurka, the kick-off hunter class at the 40th annual Hampton Classic. Galloping around two separate courses in the sprawling, grass-covered Grand Prix Ring, Colvin and Vaillero topped Kelly Tropin on Libertas Farms LLC's Chablis (174.0) and Daisy Farish on Heritage Farm's Pioneer (173.0) "I always love to ride on the big grass fields, and these jumps look amazing to me. In recent years, the Championship was held on Thursday, and this year's move to Saturday will put the nation's leading equitation riders on center stage in front of a large weekend crowd.

Bridgehampton, NY - May 14, 2015 - The Hampton Classic Horse Show has announced that Johnathan Hallgrey, a native New Yorker, has been selected as its 2015 poster artist. The selected artwork, "The Three Hunters", is an oil pastel done on paper that Hallgrey created in 1987.

Kevin Babington of Ireland guided the young mare Shorapur to the fastest fault-free jump-off time (39.16 seconds) to claim the $250,000 Hampton Classic Grand Prix, presented by Land Rover, in an exciting climax to the 39th Annual Hampton Classic.
Brianne Goutal of New York City rode Nice De Prissy to second place (0 faults/40.34 seconds), and Richie Moloney of Ireland rode Freestyle De Muze to third place, with 4 faults in 44.26 seconds. Ramiro Quintana of Argentina guided Whitney to fourth place, with 8 faults in 38.58 seconds.
California rider guides Golden Rule and Enough Said to top ribbons.
Stephanie Danhakl of Pacific Palisades, CA, rode her horses Golden Rule and Enough Said to first and second places in the $10,000 Hermes Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic, the final hunter class of the 39th Annual Hampton Classic.
On Promised Land, she earns the top prize.
Just two of the 30 horses that started the $25,000 Marder's Show Jumping Derby at the Hampton Classic could qualify for the jump-off, where Promised Land, with Addison Gierkink aboard, defeated Chamonix H, with Kelli Cruciotti aboard.
